Salem H. Turchan is an artist and instructor living in Sheboygan WI. They teach at The University of Wisconsin Green Bay, and at the NWTC Artisan and Business Center. Turchan is a graduate from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they received their Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art in Sculpture. They have taught studio art as an Instructor of Record for the University of Illinois, as well as a Workshop Instructor for both the Peck School of the Arts and Studio Arts And Craft Centre in Milwaukee Wi.
Salem H Turchans narrative work follows contemporary and historical interpretations of queer culture and politics. Sweet and also bitter, their work follows topics of mental health, sex, gender, magic, transformation and divergence from normative ideologies.
